The construction of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Surb Gevorg, named after St. George the Victorious, began back in 1996 at the same place where the wooden church, built back in 1817, was previously located.

The construction of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Surb Gevorg, named after St. George the Victorious, began back in 1996 at the same place where the wooden church, built back in 1817, was previously located.

Following Armenian traditions, the temple is lined with pink tuff brought from Armenia, and inside is decorated with bas-reliefs, cross-shaped windows and doors carved according to biblical motifs.

 

The temple is located at Georgievsk, st. Oktyabrskaya, 147a.
